Core Doctrine Agreement

We Believe in one God, who has eternally existed in three distinct Persons — the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is sovereign, loving, holy, and just. These three Persons are one God with distinct relation. (Deut. 6:4, Exodus 3:14, Isaiah 43:10-11, Matt. 28:18-20, 2 Cor. 13:14).

We Believe the Bible is God’s inspired and infallible word. It, in the 39 books of the Old Testament and 27 books of the New Testament, is living and active and as relevant today as the day it was written. It is our perfect guide in all matters of life and is to be believed, trusted and obeyed.  (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Heb. 4:12, 1 Cor. 2:13, 2 Peter 1:21)

We Believe sin has separated us all from God, and that as a result of our fall in Adam that all mankind are sinners by nature and choice; that we are reconciled back to God only through Jesus Christ. Those who by grace place their faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord will in their eternal state reign with Him in a new heavens and earth. Those who persistently reject Christ will in their eternal state exist in a conscious isolation from God in endless torment and anguish. (Genesis 2:17; 3:6, Romans 5:12-19, Ephesians 2:1-7, Matthew 13:50, Matt 25:41)

We Believe Jesus Christ is both God and Man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He led a sinless life, took all our sins upon Himself, died and rose again, and we are saved by his shed blood. Today, He is seated at the right hand of the Father as our High Priest and Mediator. He will return for His Church and restore all things to Himself. (Hebrews 4:14-16; Col. 1:15-23)

We Believe that salvation is a gift from God to man through the Son by the Holy Spirit. This gift is accepted by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ, and requires repentance from sin and faith toward God. The Holy Spirit produces His fruit and work in believers and we walk by the Holy Spirit through the Son to the Father. (Titus 3:5-8; Acts 2:38, Eph. 2:8-10)

We Believe the Holy Spirit is our Comforter. He guides us in all areas of our lives. He also blesses us with spiritual gifts and empowers us to yield the fruit of the Spirit to live bold, Christ-like lives. (Acts 1:8; John 14:26; John 3:5-6; 1 Corinthians 12:7; Gal. 5:22-26)

We Believe that water baptism is an outward and unrepeated act that demonstrates a believer's regeneration and identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, and a pledge of a good conscience toward God. (Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 6:3-4; Col. 2:11-12)

We Believe that Holy Communion requires faith and self-examination and is: a remembrance of Jesus’ sacrificial death, participation in His body and blood, nourishment for the souls of believers, significant to the unity in the Body of Christ and a looking forward to His return. (1 Cor. 11:17-34, Luke 22:17-20, John 6:53-54, Matt. 26:17-30).

We Believe biblical marriage consists only of a faithful, heterosexual union between one genetic male and one genetic female, and biblical marriage is the only legitimate and acceptable context for a sexual relationship. We believe in gender roles for the family and church as described in the Scriptures. (Genesis 2:22-24; Matthew 19:4-6, Hebrews 13:4-7 Ephesians 5:22-33, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Timothy 3:1-7)
